ZoëXenia
As a producer ZoëXenia creates a hybrid of rolling bass, mysterious soundscapes and funked-up beats. As a singer she uses her voice not only as vocal, but instrument itself, keeping her firmly on the avante-garde tip. "I like to improvise and try things with my voice, it's an instrument I carry everywhere; like recording myself having the hiccups, and making some fine rhythms with it."
She made it to the Diesel-U-Music Benelux finals in 2003, was a selected finalist at Grote Prijs van Nederland in 2004 and now performs both as a vocalist and electronic live-act on parties and festivals throughout Europe.
Her first EP was released on ArtMiniMal in Spring 2007, followed by a release on Organised Music and an invitation to play at WMC Miami. October 2007 she appeared on Connaisseur with the 'Sweet Dreams ep', a producers battle beween her and collegue Estroe. It became house tune of the month in Novembers issue of MixMag, got an excellent review in De:Bug and was played by artists like Tiefschwarz, Mike Monday, Shinedoe, Miss Jools, 3 Channels and Fabrice Lig.
This year she will appear on Connaisseur with a track on the new Grand Cru 2008 compilation and with a solo ep.
Apart from producing, ZoëXenia loves her work as a vocalist. Pacha recordings invited her to come to Ibiza and record vocals for Richard Grey and she recently did vocals & lyrics for the new albums from Dub Taylor and Marco Bailey.
